Young
and
energetic
actor
Prashanth
has
really
got
a
good
break
at
this
needy
stage.
The
actor
will
play
the
lead
role
(dual)
in
a
movie
based
on
Kalaignar's
evergreen
Historical
novel
Ponner
Sankar.
Ponnar
Shankar
is
one
of
the
mile
stone
works
of
M
Karunanidhi
in
his
70
years
old
literature
career,
which
was
published
as
series
in
a
Tamil
weekly
long
time
ago.
But
still
the
novel
is
looking
fresh
and
there
is
lot
of
scope
for
heroism
if
the
book
has
to
be
converted
as
a
film.
Ponner
and
Shankar
are
two
war
heroes
in
Tamil
literature,
who
are
worshiped
even
today
in
parts
of
Tamil
Nadu
as
'Gods'.
Prashanth
will
play
both
the
role
Ponner
and
Sankar
in
this
film
and
his
father
Thyagarajan
is
going
to
produce
and
direct
the
film.
After
a
long
time,
Thyagarajan
is
producing
the
film
under
his
own
banner
Lakshmi
Shanthi
Movies,
which
produced
hit
films
like
Komberi
Mookan,
Poovukkul
Boogammbam
and
Salem
Vishnu.
Wednesday
morning,
Prashanth
and
Thyagarajan
formally
announced
the
project
in
a
press
meet
held
at
their
own
premises
Prashanth
Gold
Towers
and
the
shooting
will
start
rolling
soon.
The
film
is
going
to
be
made
on
a
mega
budget,
with
the
best
of
technicians
involved.
