Kuselan will have Rajinikanth doing a cameo as a superstar, a friend of a local barber in a village - a role which Pasupathi, the hero of the film, will play. In the original script of the film, Rajini has only nine scenes in the film. As a matter of fact, Rajini will not appear in the first 30 minutes of the film. But P Vasu, the master of remakes, wants to reconstruct the original story so as to more scenes with superstar.
Vasu feels that the actor should be in the film right through - as a matter of fact he wants the actor to have more scenes than Pasupathi. The director has also planned to put in additional songs including the usual intro song for the Superstar like in his previous blockbuster Chandramukhi. According to Vasu's plan, there will be 'mega' song with all the big stars of Indian cinema like the one in Om Shanthi Om.
But what the rumour mills say is that the Superstar is not willing to play the lead role in the film and wants to retain the writer Srinivasan's original story without any changes. It is also gossiped that the actor wants to concentrate more in his forthcoming mega venture Robot that is to start 2 months prior to when it was originally planned.
But Vasu is firm concerning this. According to him, the film will do well at the box office if Rajini is there right through the film. Otherwise it will become another 'Valli,' Rajini's home production. Kollywood sources say that it is because of this that film's launch function is getting delayed.
When we enquired about these things, director Vasu laughed saying, "Initially Rajini sir has doubts about the new version of the film but he was later convinced about what I had I mind. One again, I would like to convey the message to the media through you that the film will be an all out Rajini film like Muthu or Chandramukhi. There is rib-tickling comedy portion with Rajini-Vivek. There will more interesting changes in the script of the film which will be incorporated with Rajini's full approval. We will soon announce the launch of the shooting of the film."
