Earlier the police had arrested Vaiko and his party presidium chairman Kannappan for the same reason.
The police took both Seeman and Ameer to Madurai by flight and brought them to the Ramanathapuram court in the morning.
Police said the two would be taken to Rameswaram for further interrogation.
After the arrest both Ameer and Seeman told that they had never delivered a speech intentionally against the sovereignty of India.
"We exposed our concern over the crisis faced by fellow Tamilians in the Island. It is not against the integrity of India. If the government tries to portray our feeling towards fellow Tamilian as anti-nation, we never bother about that and will continue the same 'mistake' again and again!" Ameer said.
