A Tribute to Illayaraaja

Veteran playback singers SP Balasubramaniam and 'Chinnakuyil' Chitra are teaming up to present a tribute to the legendary music director Illayaraaja today at 6.30 pm at the Kamaraj Arangam in the City. The show will feature only songs from the maestro's vast work for nearly 1000 films in all the major languages of the country.

A part of the proceeds from the event titled Paadavaa Un Paadalai will go to Smile, an organization that shelters HIV affected and infected children. According to the organizers, they will expect a collection of Rs. 40 lakhs from this programme and the same will be donated to the organization to serve the society with more enthusiasm.

Illayaraaja, the unparalleled maestro of our times will also be expected for the event.
