Sarath's daughter signs in the dotted lines

It's official! Dr Veeralakshmi, a Ph D scholar from Edinburg and daughter of actor Sarath Kumar, is going to make her film debut in a Simbu starrer movie Thiru Poda Thirumathi Podi – Dandanakka Jodi. Jointly Produced by Gemini Film Circuit and Shanaya Tele films, the film has another hot heroine Shreya. What factors forced a Ph D Scholar to choose Tamil films as her career?

The reason Varalakshmi revealed is very simple. Her passion towards the profession and the sleek and stylish script narrated by new director Vignesh Siva. After listening the script, Sarath Kumar also convinced and decided that Poda Podi is the perfect launch pad for his daughter.

Apart from achieving high degrees in studies, Veeralakshmi has also completed her formal training in acting in Anupam Kher's acting school and she is an expert in Salsa dance also. The shooting of Poda Podi will commence in August 15, 2008 in Canada.
