Vijay TV awards to Rajini

Vijay TV Film Awards
Vijay TV announced its Annual Film Awards and distributed the same in a colourful award distribution ceremony held in Chennai recently. The Channel adjudged Superstar Rajinikanth as the Favourite Hero of the year for his outstanding Shivaji: The Boss. His film also shared the honour with Vijay's Pokkiri in the most popular awards category. Vijay was also selected as the best entertainer of the year for his Pokkiri.

Amir's Paruthi Veeran has been adjudged the Best Film. Vetrimaran won best director award for Polladhavan. Both Paruthi Veeran and Polladhavan also took home three other jury awards. Chennai 600028, Mozhi and Kattrudhu Tamizh won two awards each.

Sathyaraj won the Best Actor award for his performance in Thankar Bachan's Onbathu Roobai Nottu. Karthi and Anjali won the best debutant awards for Paruthi Veeran and Kattradhu Tamil respectively. Priyamani was adjudged the Best Actress for her mind-blowing performance in Paruthi Veeran.

All awards were distributed in the grand ceremony held at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Most of the award winners attended the event and collected their awards. Since Rajinikanth was busy in his Kuselan shooting, a crew from Vijay TV visited the actor on the spot and handed over the award to him.

K Balachander gave away the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan award for excellence to Mani Rathnam. He said it was indeed a great honour to receive the Sivaji award and wished that he had the opportunity to have worked with the late veteran.

Music wizard AR Rehman, who got the award for his music in Shivaji says, "All the praise and fame he got only goes to the almighty!"
