Krishna acts in Alibaba

Noted young director Vishnuvarthan has launched his younger brother Krishna as hero in Alibaba. Directed by Neelan G Sekhar, Vishnu's former assistant, the film has newcomer Janani as heroine. Her original name is Sherin but changed now as Janani to avoid name confusion as already an actress is in the industry with the same name. The Chandighar based girl has done some ad films earlier.

Veteran actors Prakashraj, Thilakan and Biju Menon are playing in supporting cast. Krishna, who completed his MBA in US has appeared in some films as child artist including Mani Rathnam's Anjali. According to the director, Krishna is the right choice to do the film as he has a face, which will be accepted by the common man.

In addition to that he has been part of several French and Tamil plays in the US and a talented choreographer. Krishna is basically a dancer and he has choreographed a song with Kamal Hassan in Vettayadu Vilayadu.

Answering to a question about the title, the director told that there is no special meaning behind the title Alibaba. "It is a catchy title and gives meaning something like a lucky person."

The producer Pattiyal Sekar, father of Krishna, has planned to release the film Alibaba by the end of June. Vidhyasagar will score the music for the film
