Rahman visits Ameen Peer Dargah

Oscar hero A.R. Rahman, on his regular visit to the Ameen Peer dargah known as Pedda dargah in Cuddappa on Friday, said that the two Oscar awards he bagged belongs to the people of India.

The 43-year-old music director has won the Oscars for the Best Original Score and for the Best Song, Jai Ho, in the film Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle. After his return to the mother land, this was the first visit outside Chennai.

According to the agencies, the world class composer said that the people of Cuddappa were fortunate to be in the vicinity of the Pedda dargah, he added that all his desires were fulfilled on his visits to the dargah. He mentioned that as a place of peace and serenity.

Earlier, Rahman had offered special prayers from 7 am to 1 pm. Head priest Hazarath Arifullah Hussaini Saheb accorded him a grand welcome. Rahman said that he would give new music tunes and continue his experiments with music in Hollywood and Bollywood.
