Today technicians from south have made it big in Hindi cinema. In Paa, 60 percent of the people who worked in the film like director Balki, cameraman PC Sriram, heroine Vidya Balan and above all the maestro Ilayaraja and a few other technicians are from south.
AB went out of his way to wax eloquent about the great maestro of the country Ilayaraja, who was in a good mood and reciprocated the praises by saying in English: "Amitji is the heart and soul of Paa, he has lived the role of Auro and is absolutely fantastic. The screenplay of Balki based on a short and simple story is brilliant." Later Paa was screened for the guests at the function. Almost the entire Kollywood turned to watch the great show.
