Cheran's Pokkisham strikes screens today

Cheran's much awaited film Pokkisham is going to hit the screens worldwide today.

In this big Independence-Day weekend, Pokkisham is the only major release in Tamil. Produced by Hithesh Jabak and directed by Cheran, the reports after the noon show about the film have been encouraging.

Sivagiri, a little known small film which has been in the cans for months is also releasing, along with half-a-dozen dubbed films.

In the past 45 days, 32 films have been released and only 5 films have managed a week long projection in all the centers. Azhagar Malai is the only exception in this disaster and has got a handful of viewers during weekdays, that too mainly because of Ilayaraja and Vadivelu.
