arrested
from
his
office
on
Wednesday
evening
and
charged
under
the
harassment
of
women
Act
on
the
basis
of
a
complaint
filed
by
the
South
Indian
Film
Artistes
Association
against
the
newspaper
for
publishing
a
report
that
hurt
the
sentiments
of
some
actresses.
On
Wednesday
evening,
the
Central
Crime
Branch
police
entered
the
Anna
Salai
premises
of
Dinamalar
and
arrested
Lenin
without
any
warrant.
Actor
and
secretary
of
SIFAA
Radha
Ravi
had
lodged
the
police
complaint.
Following
this
a
case
was
registered
against
Lenin
under
Section
4
of
the
Tamil
Nadu
Prohibition
of
Harassment
of
Women
Act.
He
was
produced
before
a
magistrate
at
the
Egmore
court
and
remanded
to
custody.
The
Chennai
Press
Club
and
the
Madras
Union
of
Journalists
have
condemned
the
arrest
of
Lenin.
They
have
asked
the
State
government
to
intervene
for
the
release
of
Lenin.
The
Chennai
Press
Club
stressed
the
need
for
good
relations
between
film
artistes
and
journalists.
