Love and action to wage battle in Porkalam

Porkalam is a new film made by Bharani Minerals, a Telugu based production house, is their debut movie in Tamil.

Directed by debutant Bandi Saroj Kumar, the film is a pucca action film. The director in charge of the story, script and shots claims that there are certain elements in the film which have not been tried before in Tamil cinema.

The lead character is played by Kishore and there are seven villains in the film, which stars a Kannada girl, Smitha as heroine. The bad guys include Biju Menon, Santhanabharathy, Tinu Anand from Bollywood, Sampath, Ponvannan and Lal amongst others.

Talking about Kishore, Saroj Kumar says, "I saw him in Polladhavan and felt that he is just right for this role." The film is a dark story of love and revenge.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has done the music of this film. "He was very excited and agreed to do it as soon as he heard the script," says Saroj Kumar. Five songs are being recorded.

The film has been shot partly in Thailand and in Karaikudi, Rameswaram, Madurai and other places in TN. The audio is to be out soon and the makers are looking for a May end release.
