Prabhu Deva back for second innings

By By: Settu Shankar

It"s been quite a while since we saw Prabhu Deva on the big screen as hero. Even though there have been many offers for the choreographer and actor-turned-director to continue his acting career in Tamil, he has been turning them down with a firm 'no". In this situation he targeted the director's chair and now he has become one of the leading filmmakers in the South.

However, the latest news is that the reluctant star has finally agreed to do a movie with Thankar Bachan and the film is tentatively titled Kalavadiya Pozhudugal.

Interestingly, the last time we saw Prabhu in a full-length role was in Engal Anna (2005) with Vijayakanth, Namitha and Swarnamalya. He has also made a few cameo appearances in songs from movies Pokkiri and Villu (which were directed by him).

Kalavadiya Pozhudugal will have Bhumika Chawla in the lead. Prakash Raj will also be playing a crucial role. Prabhu is doing the film because he is 'impressed with Thangar"s story narration and for the first time, a solid author-backed role has been offered to him.'

Bhumika is also making a comeback of sorts after her marriage to yoga instructor Bharat Thakur.
