Best director award for Priyadarshan!

Priyadarshan"s classic movie on the emergence of Communist movement in Tamil Nadu, Kanchivaram, has bagged the Best Director award from the Government of Pondicherry organized film festival along with Navadharshan Film Society.
The award named after Sri Sankaradass Swamigal, carries a memento and a cash price of Rs 50,000 and will be given to the director at a function to be held in the second week of September in Pondicherry.
The award ceremony will be held in coming September and the exact date will be declared soon by the state Government.
Prakashraj plays the lead role in Kanchivaram and Shreya Reddy plays the female part.
