Leading
film
maker
Priyadarshan
has
slammed
the
selectors
of
Indian
films
for
Oscar
award
nominations.
He
spoke
to
the
media
after
receiving
the
best
film
award
for
Kanchivaram
and
asked,"I
have
always
been
saying
that
we
are
making
a
mockery
of
ourselves
by
sending
such
idiotic
films
to
the
Oscars.
This
is
very
sad.
We
have
great
filmmakers
but
none
of
their
films
are
sent
to
the
Oscars,
why?"
Speaking
about
Kanchivaram,
the
ace
director
says
that
the
film
was
premiered
at
Toronto
International
Film
Festival
where
it
got
a
standing
ovation.
"The
standing
ovation
by
1000
foreigners
in
Toronto
marked
the
success
of
making
the
film.
But
the
selectors
haven't
selected
the
film
for
Oscar...," said
Priyadarshan.
