Ramana
is
a
popular
director
who
has
churned
out
action
packed
films
like
Thirumalai,
Sullan
and
Aadhi.
After
working
as
an
assistant
to
director
Ramana
in
all
these
films,
Rajasegar
has
planned
to
take
the
plunge
into
direction.
But
he
was
unable
to
find
a
hero
for
his
script.
His
guru
was
determined
to
help
him
and
now
he
plays
the
lead
role
in
the
film,
which
is
titled
Gudhirai!
The
film
does
not
have
a
natural
storyline
but
is
more
like
a
character
analysis.
"It
looks
at
the
lead
character
-
Surya
-
from
three
different
angles," quips
the
debutant
director,
"We
have
shot
a
3
minute15
seconds
scene
that
involved
the
hero
showcasing
various
emotions
in
a
single
take!"
"He
was
assisting
me
when
I
did
my
commercial
films," says
Ramana,
"But
I
never
knew
that
he
had
such
a
different
attitude
towards
film
making."
How
was
it
to
be
directed
by
an
assistant?
"There
were
some
scenes
when
I
wanted
to
suggest
a
few
things
but
I
constantly
reminded
myself
that
I
was
only
acting
in
this
film," he
replied.
Most
of
the
shoot
for
the
film
is
over
and
all
that's
left
is
a
song
that
will
be
shot
in
Rajasthan
soon.
The
rest
of
the
cast
includes
Prakashraj,
Vineeth,
Ilavarasu
and
Lalitha.
