Sarath Kumar-Radhika to contest elections

Leading actor Sarath Kumar announced yesterday that he would file nomination papers to contest from Thirunelveli for the Lok Sabha seat on behalf of his AISMK party. His wife and popular actress Radhika will contest in Sivaganga or some other winnable constituency after the final list of seats are declared by his party.

According to Sarath, he has attempted to woo actor Karthik led Agila India Naadalum Makhal Katchi to his fold for the polls.

When asked about his invitation to Karthik and Puthiya Tamilagam, he told media persons that efforts are being made to woo more parties.

Meanwhile, applications have come for the first time from cadres evincing interest to contest in the LS polls. Around 51 applications were received on the first day alone. He informed adding that about 15 winnable constituencies have been finalised by the party.

21 out of the total 51 office bearers, who applied on Monday, had appealed for party president Sarath Kumar"s candidature in Thirunelveli constituency.
