Sri Lankan Film Festival postponed due to financial cringe

Sri Lanka's Galle Film Festival, which is to be held from December 2nd to 6th, has been postponed to next year, organizers said on Wednesday. "Financial constraints (among others) have played a big part in the decision to not to go ahead with the festival this year," Galle Film Festival media coordinator Menika van der Poorten told.

The second Galle festival was to be presented in association with the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Tourism and planned to open with Sri Lankan director Vimukthi Jayasundera"s "Ahasin Wetei," which was in competition at this year's Venice Film Festival.
