Actress Trisha's mother Uma Krishnan has denied reports about her daughter's campaign for Congress Party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in Andhra.

According to Media reports, Trisha Krishnan, the numero uno actress in Telugu film world had agreed to campaign for the Congress Party in Andhra, a state where there is a close nexus between politics and cinema, like Tamil Nadu.

However, the former Miss Chennai has now apparently turned down the offer politely.

“Trisha was approached, but while flattered by the gesture, she said she couldn"t go for the campaign trail," said her mother Uma Krishnan in Chennai a couple of days ago.

“Trisha also felt that since she knew nothing about local or national politics, she couldn"t offer any value addition," she added.

Later when Trisha was contacted, she commented, "I am only interested in acting, since that is the only thing I know."

Trisha is currently shooting in Madurai for her forthcoming film with Dhanush under the direction of Vetrimaaran.
