Kanchivaram wins Best Film Award

South Indian biggest film award function, 57th Idea Filmfare Award(South) was held in Chennai on Saturday(August 07). The star-studded night saw Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film fraternity coming together for the event.

Priyadarshan's period movie Kanchivaram won three awards in Tamil category. Prakash Raj's role as a Vengadam in the film Kanchivaram and actress Shammu, who played Prakash Raj's daughter in the film, bagged 'Best Actor' and 'Best Supporting Role(female)' respectively. Following is the list of winners for Tamil catergory

Best Film: Nadodigal
Best Director: Priyadarshan(Kanchivaram)
Best Actor: Prakash Raj(Kanchivaram)
Best Actress: Pooja(Naan Kadavul)
Best New Face: Abhinaya(Nadodigal)
Best Supporting Role(Male): Jayaprakash(Pasanga)
Best Supporting Role(Female): Shammu(Kanchivaram)
Best Music: Harris Jayaraj(Ayan)
Best Playback Singer(Male): Karthik(Aadhavan)
Best Playback Singer(Female): Chinmayi(Aadhavan)
Best Lyrics: Na Muthukumar(Ayan)
Best Cinematographer:Thiru (Kanchivaram)

Glitz and glamour event was filled with dances and stage shows from south Indian stars. Shreya Saran, Trisha Krishnan, Tamanna Bhatia and other actresses presence added colors to starry night.
