Karunanidhi lays foundation for Kalaignar Managaram

Finally, dreams of hundreds of film technicians in Tamil film industry will come true as they will finally have their own houses allotted by State Government under Kalaignar Managaram scheme. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi launched the foundation lying ceremony on August 23.

This scheme is all about State Government building houses for 15, 000 employees of film industry. The occasion saw coming together of superstars Rajinikanth, Mammootty, Bollywood actor Jeetendra, South Indian Artists Association president Sarath Kumar, veteran filmmaker K. Balachandar and many others from film industry.

Addressing the crowd, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said that hundreds of set decorators, who have worked for erecting sets, will finally have a house of their own. Indeed, such factors urged Kalainyar to propose this scheme.

The event was also attended by many other actors and union ministers.
