Cinematographer PN Sundaram passes away

Veteran cinematographer P N Sundaram passed away at his residence here on Monday. He was 82 and is survived by his two daughters and a son.

He had undergone a surgery for a heart condition a few months ago and had visited his doctors for a check-up on Monday. He died around 4:30 pm at his residence

Sundaram canned many memorable movies starring legends MGR, Sivaji Ganesan and Jayalalitha. Enga Veettu Pillai, Uyarndha Manidhan, Oli Vilakku, Kaadhalikka Neramillai', Adimai Penn, and Vietnam Veedu' are some among them. He had filmed over 200 movies in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Sundaram was one of the founders of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and the South Indian Cinematographers Association (SICA). As a mark of respect to the venerated cinematographer, all shooting schedules for Tuesday have been cancelled.
