Porulu reveals realities of Chennai slums

Films with newcomers have instantly worked wonders as the audiences have welcomed them ardently for their substance and presentation. Indeed, in the past couple of years, we have witnessed many films with new actors and technician rocking at its best.

Debutant P Ilayakavi seems very self-assured about his dexterity in filmmaking as he asserts that Porulu will be a trendsetting film in the history of Tamil Cinema.

The film Porulu is reported to have recorded the realities prevailing amongst the slums in northern Chennai. To make the scenes look real on screen, filmmaker Ilayakavi has opted to shoot the film at real slums in Chennai. Apart from producing this film, Ezhumalai performs lead role in this film with Renigunta fame Theepetti Ganesan performing an important character.

Another highlight of this film is about music director Soundaryan making his comeback after a long sabbatical. The ace musician had grabbed everyone"s attention with some of his best showpieces including K.S. Ravikumar"s Cheran Pandiyan.

The movie was launched recently here at Chennai and shooting is expected to begin from next month. N. Saravanan has been signed to handle the publicity works for this film and rest of the technicians are Sai Suresh (Editing), Ganesh Raja (Camera), Ghajini fame Kumaran (Stunts) and Seenu (Costume).
