After fighting in public for a while, Prabhu Deva and his wife Ramalatha have finally decided to put an end to their bitter battle by mutual understanding. On Tuesday, they appeared before a family court and filed a mutual petition seeking for divorce.

The estranged couple has said that they are parting ways by mutual consent and all the efforts made my their family and friends have not changed their stance due to their irreconcilable differences. Hence, they have approached the court to dissolve the marriage as they cannot live together anymore.

Three months ago, Ramalatha had filed a petition soon after Prabhu declared that he is in love with Nayan. In her plea, she had asked the court to restore her conjugal rights and to direct her husband to live with her. After much drama, she withdrew all her earlier petitions yesterday.

Prabhu married Latha on 8 September, 1995 as per the Hindu customs. But they have been living separately since 2008.
