Mani Ratnam's Raavan getting gradual popularity

Mani Ratnam"s Raavan is gaining gradual popularity and is soon sinking in with the audiences right after the release of its teaser. The movie is soon to have its audio release and will hit screens by mid-2010.

Currently, the movie"s official website has Mani Ratnam reflecting on the mythical character Raavan. Amongst different questions he was seen asking whether Raavana is the line that divides the line between Good and Evil. He further proceeds by asking whether Raavana was simply a myth or a metaphor. Well, the shoot of the movie and the extensive research which seems to have gone into the same has apparently put Mani in the mood for reflections.

The hindi version of the flick will have Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan playing the leads whereas the Tamil flick stars Vikram and Aishwarya. The movie, which gives a modern twist on the Ramayana, has many highlights including the talented director who is known to get the best performances out of his actors. There is Aishwarya and Abhishek coming together on the big screen and it also has Santosh Sivan as the cinematographer, who is also known for his work in Asoka and Dil Se.
