Aadukalam beats Siruthai, Kaavalan at box-office

Dhanush starrer Aadukalam has won the Pongal race at the box-office. The movie has overtaken Karthi's Siruthai and Vijay's Kaavalan in first two days collections.

Aadukalam grossed Rs.71 lakhs in two days. The movie directed by Vetrimaran got good reviews from the critics and audience. Trade analysts say that it happened because of good mouth publicity and Sun Pictures marketing strategy.

On the other hand, Karthi starrer Siruthai has collected Rs.58 lakhs. Though, the movie got thumbs up from critics, it received mixed response from the audience. However, trade analyst predict that the movie would do well in coming days.

Finally, Vijay's Kaavalan, which was released after much controversies, did well on the first day of the release. But mixed reviews from the critics and theatre issues hampered the business. It is in third position by collecting Rs. 51 lakhs.
