Anushka plays Mahesh Babu-Aarya's sister in Ponniyin Selvan

Anushka Shetty's character in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan has been revealed. The actress will be playing Mahesh Babu-Aarya's sister in the historical film.

Anushka Shetty is reportedly playing the role of Kundavai Pirattiyar aka Kundavai in the film. She will be the daughter of Sundara Chola, which will be played by Sathyaraj in Ponniyin Selvan. Mahesh Babu is enacting Arulmozhi Varman's character, whereas Aarya will portray Aditya Karikalan's role in the film.

The pre-production works of the film are in brisk progress. Along with Mani Ratnam, Vasanth of Saththam Podathey fame is penning the script. The expected-budget of the movie is said to be Rs. 200 crores, which is produced by the Sun Pictures .
