Arjun turns baddie for Mani Ratnam's Pookadai

By Ramchander

Arjun Sarja seems to have grabbed the attention of maverick director Mani Ratnam with his performance in Mankatha. The multilingual actor, who was seen in a negative role in Ajith Kumar's 50th film, has been offered a villain role by the filmmaker for his next film, which is tentatively titled Pookadai.

Sources say that Arjun Sarja's character is different from his role in Mankatha. In the recently released Tamil film, the actor's true face was revealed in the end but in Pookadai, from the word go, he will be shown as the antagonist.

Arjun Sarja will have a complete different avatar in Pookadai and his role is as big as the hero of the film, newcomer Gautham, the son of yesteryear Karthik. However, other details about the cast are still under wraps.

While Mani Ratnam is yet to find the leading lady for Pookadai, he has finalised the crew for the forthcoming multilingual film. His favourite musician AR Rahman will be scoring the music, whereas Rajeev Menon will be handling the camera.
