Ajith Kumar's prestigious Billa 2 is finally taking-off today. After much-delay, the shooting is commencing at the Ramoji Rao Film Studios in Hyderabad under the direction of Chakri Toleti, who has penned the story and screenplay of the film.

The film unit has planned a single 90-day schedule out of which 40 days of the shoots will be held in the Ramoji Rao Film Studios. Rest of the portions of Billa 2 will be filmed in Puducherry, Goa, Thailand and some European countries.

The story of the film takes us back to the past of David Billa, the don played by Ajith Kumar in Billa. His journey from a refugee to a dreaded mobster is the main story of the film. Namitha's role of CJ and Nayantara's character of Sasha have been excluded from the original film. But Prabhu and Rahman's characters have been retained.

The actor will be seen alongside Huma Qureshi and Bruna Abdullah, who are the leading ladies of the film. The latest to join the cast is Sudhanshu Pandey of Bollywood movie Murder 2 fame, who will play one of the rivals of Billa in the film.

Billa 2 is jointly produced by IN Entertainment (India) Limited (INE) and Wide Angle Creations of Suresh Balaje and George Pius. The movie is expected to hit the screens in April 2012.
