Deepika Padukone has finally signed to star in Rajinikanth's Rana. The actress has readjusted her dates and has confirmed the news that she will feature in KS Ravi Kumar directorial film.
Deepika has said that she is excited to be part of the superstar's film. She also added that her dream of pairing with Rajini is coming true with this film. Reports say that she has sacrificed Akshay Kumar starrer Housefull 2 for the period film, which will see Rajinikanth in triple role.
Deepika started her career in Kannada opposite Upendra with the movie Aishwarya. Soon after that she entered Bollywood with Shahrukh Khan's Om Shanti Om. She was also seen in an item number in Telugu film Love 4 Ever. However, Rana will be her first Tamil film.
The movie is jointly produced by Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios Private Limited. The movie will hit the floors in March. AR Rahman will be scoring the music, Ratnavelu is the cinematographer and noted Hollywood techinician Charles Darby will be the visual effects advisor.
