We
have
recently
read
about
the
speculations
related
to
the
cast
of
Dhanush's
fantasy
movie
Maareesan.
The
latest
to
hear
about
the
much-hyped
movie
is
that
UTV
Motion
Pictures
has
backed
out
of
the
film.
As
a
result,
the
Tamil
movie
has
fallen
into
the
laps
of
producer
Aascar
Ravichandran.
Reports
claim
that
UTV
Motion
Pictures
wanted
to
cut
down
the
proposed
budget
of
Maareesan.
Director
Chimbu
Deven,
who
had
reportedly
quoted
Rs
30
crores,
was
told
to
reduce
the
amount.
However,
the
director
was
firm
on
his
stand
and
did
not
want
to
reduce
the
price,
which
forced
the
production
house
drop
the
Tamil
movie.
In
the
meantime,
Aascar
Ravichandran,
who
is
gearing
up
for
his
biggest-ever
release
Velayudham,
decided
to
chip
in
to
produce
the
Maareesan
because
he
found
the
project
interesting.
But
the
producer
has
not
finalised
the
deal
and
soon
he
is
expected
to
complete
the
formalities
with
the
cast
and
crew.
Maareesan
is
said
to
be
a
fantasy
film,
which
has
the
12th
century
backdrop.
The
movie
reportedly
features
Genelia
D'Souza
and
Hansika
Motwani
in
the
female
lead
roles.
