Dhanush overwhelmed by 'Kolaveri di...' response

Dhanush could not have expected more from his fans. His recently released 'Kolaveri di...' has caught the nation's attention garnering appreciation from the listeners. To add fuel to his joy, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has also praised the song to heavens, which shows the popularity of the 'soup track'.

"I am overwhelmed by the response. When we were recording the song, we never thought it would become such a rage. We didn't have any plans, any marketing strategy to make the song a hit. It just happened. My voice is full of mistakes and that's why it suits the song. I guess that worked for the song because it can be easily hummed," Dhanush told PTI over phone from Chennai.

'Kolaveri di...' is a funny song on a heartbreak. The quirky lines consisting of Tanglish (Tamil and English) lyrics with catchy tune has become a rage on the internet. "When I was writing down the lyrics, I kept in mind all the English words that are used in the Tamil vocabulary. Words like I, you, me, how, why, cow.. I just framed them into sentences and thats how I came up with the song," said Dhanush.

'Kolaveri di...' track from the forthcoming movie 3 is written and crooned by Dhanush and newcomer Anirudh has composed the music.
