Mani Ratnam to launch AR Rahman's biography

Mani Ratnam is all set to launch music maestro AR Rahman much-awaited biography on April 6, 2011. It has been written by renowned film writer Nasreen Munni Kabir and published by Om Books International.

The biography 'A.R. Rahman: The Spirit of Music' will give an insight into Oscar Award winner AR Rahman's life. It will feature some interesting facts, rare photos etc., of the two time Academy Award winner.

AR Rahman started his career by scoring music for commercials, television serials, documentaries etc. It was Mani Ratnam, who spotted AR Rahman's musical talent while working with legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja. The director introduced him to the film industry with Roja, which bagged Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) for the Mozart of Madras. Since then, the music director has scored music for all Mani Ratnam's films.
