Mani Ratnam's next is launchpad for stars' kids

Ace director Mani Ratnam's next will be a launchpad for the kids of two actors. The filmmaker has reportedly decided to cast Karthik"s son, Gautham; and Radha"s daughter, Tulasi in the forthcoming Tamil movie.

Grapevine is abuzz with the news that Gautham and Tulasi are making their debut in romantic film, which is directed by Mani Ratnam. The director has narrated the story to Radha and her daughter in Mumbai recently. However, both the soon-to-be actors are yet to sign on the dotted lines. It may be recalled that Kamal Hassan's daughter Akshara Hassan's name was also doing rounds for the female lead role in the upcoming Tamil film.

The story of the film is about the Sri Lankan fishermen issue turmoil. The script is written by Jayamohan of Naan Kadavul and Angadi Theru fame. Other details about the project are still under wraps.
