Prabhu Deva's Vedi unit, which is in Kolkata for the shooting of the film, has been denied permission to film at the famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple. The makers of the film were disappointed after the temple management disapproved their application.

Sources say that the makers of the film submitted the application for the shooting on July 21. The temple management had no issues for two days. But on July 22, the authorities told them that their request had been turned down, as they did not furnish the details about the shooting date, the number of hours which they want to shoot at the temple premises, whether it was for commercial or non-commercial purpose, etc.

However, they filled the details later but the process of getting permission should get approval from the trustees, which obviously takes some time, claims a staff of the temple. The cancellation of the shooting resulted in a loss of five lakhs for the producer.

Vedi features Vishal Krishna, Sameera Reddy and Poonam Kaur in the lead roles. It is a remake of Telugu superhit movie Souryam.
