Rajinikanth effect forces Deepika Padukone to snub Akshay!

We may call it as 'Rajinikanth effect' ! Yes, Deepika Padukone, who was offered to play one of the female leads in the superstar's next film Rana a few weeks ago, has decided to act in the film at the cost of her other Bollywood project Housefull 2.

Deepika has reportedly opted Rajini's film over Akshay Kumar's film. The actress, who recently confessed that she loves to be part of the superstar Rana, has finally made her mind on the project and given the green signal, says source. However, Asin Thottumkal has replaced her in the Housefull sequel.

KS Ravi Kumar directorial Rana will see the superstar in triple role. It also features Anushka Shetty in the key role. The movie is jointly produced by Eros International and Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios Private Limited. The movie will hit the floors in March.

AR Rahman will be scoring the music, Ratnavelu is the cinematographer and noted Hollywood techinician Charles Darby will be the visual effects advisor.
