Rajinkanth's Kochadaiyaan is prequel to Rana

Rajinikanth's prestigious Rana, which was reportedly on the back burner, is not shelved rather it is getting a prequel. Yes, Soundarya Rajinikanth's directorial debut movie Kochadaiyaan, which was announced recently, is the first instalment of the proposed projects.

Soundarya Rajinkanth confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote, “Kochadaiyaan is a prequel to Rana. Its performance capture,similar to AVATAR.☺thanks for all the wishes." The director further claimed that the title of the upcoming multilingual movie is one of lord Shiva's names.

Talking about the progress of Kochadaiyaan, Soundarya Rajinkanth said, “Spent all day yest with Appa and KSR locking script,too early to comment on cast.will once we finalise." Meanwhile, she has roped in cinematographer Rajiv Menon to handle the camera.

Kochadaiyaan is produced by Eros International & Media One. Filmmaker KS Ravikumar is the supervisor of the project. It is expected to hit the screens in August 2012.
