It is well-known that Rajinikanth plays triple role in the upcoming multilingual film Rana. The latest information on the film is that he will play young twin brothers named Rana Daggubhai and Sonu Sokkubhai. He also appears as Pushkar, a old-aged villain in the film.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who is making her debut in the Tamil film industry, will enact the role of Princess Rani Lakshmi Devi. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood will be doing the role of Rajinikanth's villain character's deputy.
