Sathyaraj to showcase silambam skills again

Sathyaraj is shedding his all inhibitions for his upcoming Tamil film Ponniyin Selvan. The actor has started practising silambam (Dravidian martial art or stick fighting) for Mani Ratnam directorial film.

Sathyaraj is said to be playing the role of Periya Pazhuvettarayar in the historical film. His role requires him to showcase silambam skills in some scenes in the film. So, the actor, who is proficient in silambam and fencing, is honing his skills. It may be recalled that the actor had done such role in his earlier movie Villadhi Villain.

The movie is the screen-adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's epic novel ' Ponniyin Selvan'. The story of the film revolves around the Chola Dynasty. Mani Ratnam and Vasanth of Saththam Podathey have taken responsibility of penning the script. The expected-budget of the movie is said to be Rs. 200 crores, which is produced by the Sun Pictures .

Meanwhile, Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Aarya and Anushka Shetty have already been roped in for the key roles in the film.
