Sun Pictures COO arrested

Sun Pictures Chief Operating Officer, Hansraj Saxena was arrested at the Chennai Airport on Sunday following a cheating complaint from a film distributor. TS Selvaraj, owner of Kandan Films in Salem, lodged a complaint against him with the City Police Commissioner on July 1.

In his complaint, the distributor has claimed that he acquired the theatrical rights of Vishal's starrer film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai for Salem region. They signed a deal for Rs. 1.25 crore and he paid the amount to the Sun Pictures. But after taking the money, it sold the movie directly to the movie theatres.

However, when Selvaraj asked them to return his amount of Rs.82.53 lakh, the COO threatened him. Meanwhile, the court remanded Hansraj Saxena to judicial custody till June 17.
