Surya finds inspiration in Bodhidharma

Surya is delighted to have worked in much-hyped 7aam Arivu. The actor, who has done two roles in the forthcoming Tamil movie, feels proud to be part of the film. It is not because he will be seen in never-seen-before avatars nor for working with versatile AR Murugadoss again. Well, the actor is happy for getting the role to perform as Bodhidharma, the man, who transmitted the Zen to the world.

Speaking to a leading daily, Surya has opened up on his excitement of enacting Bodhidharma's character. The actor says that he was stunned when AR Murgadoss approached him and narrated the story. He feels that his story is inspiring and hopes it does the same for the youngsters, who does not know about him.

The Ghajini star further adds that he was surprised when he visited Shaolin Monastery in China to see the lifestyle of monks. However, Bodhidharma was the Pallava king before turning a patriarch. The movie shows the connection between Kanchipuram and China. A super machine, which has a major role to play in the film, will reveals this and tells about the Tamil culture and its spread.

7aam Arivu directed by AR Murugadoss is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. The movie stars Surya, Shruti Hassan and Hollywood actor Johnny Tri Nguyen.
