Tamil film industry mourns Ilaiyaraaja’s wife’s death

Ilayaraja's wife Jeeva, who was 60, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Monday (October 31). She breathed her last at a private hospital in Chennai and she is survived by Ilaiyaraaja, sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja, and daughter Bhavatharini.

Kollywood big wigs like Kamal Hassan, Sivakumar, Silambarasan, Vishal, Khushboo, Latha Rajinikanth, directors K. Balachander, Bharathiraja, Kasthuri Raja, Balu Mahendra and many others have expressed their shock at the sudden demise of Ilayaraja's wife. They paid last respects to Jeeva on Tuesday.

Politicians like DMK patriarch M.Karunanidhi, MK Stalin, Governor offered condolences to the bereaved family. However, The final rites will be performed today at Jeeva"s birthplace, Pannayapuram.
