UTV bags Cheran's Muran

UTV Motion Pictures has bagged the theatrical and satellite rights of Cheran's Muran. But the price paid for the movie has not been disclosed yet.

Sources say that the bosses of UTV Motion Pictures, who have shown interest in regional films of late, were impressed by the storyline of the film. Thus they have acquired the rights, says a source. It may be recalled that the company has recently acquired the distribution rights of Selvaraghavan's Erandam Ulagam.

Muran is directed by a newcomer and a former assistant of Mysskin, Rajjan Madhav. It features Cheran, Prasanna, Nikitha Thukral and Haripriya in the leads. The movie is expected to hit the screens in September.
