There
have
been
rumours
about
Tamil
movie
Deiva
Thirumagal
is
a
remake
of
Hollywood
film
I
am
Sam.
Although
AL
Vijay
clarified
it
more
than
a
few
times,
yet
sources
in
the
industry
found
some
similarities
between
the
two
movies
like
the
father-daughter
bonding,
the
resemblance
of
costumes
of
the
lead
actors
etc.
However,
the
director
has
now
defended
his
stand
by
claiming
that
it
is
inspired
by
a
real
life
story.
AL
Vijay
has
spilled
the
beans
on
the
story
of
Deiva
Thirumagal
by
revealing
that
the
story
is
inspired
by
his
cousin's
life.
The
filmmaker
has
witnessed
the
suffering
faced
by
him
and
based
on
that
he
has
etched
the
story.
Taking
on
how
he
approached
Vikram,
the
Madrasapattinam
director
said
that
he
had
a
rough
sketch
about
the
story
in
his
mind,
when
he
met
the
actor.
But
he
penned
down
the
script
only
after
the
Raavanan
star
showed
interest
in
the
project.
Finally,
the
filmmaker
assures
that
Deiva
Thirumagal
is
not
an
art
film.
It
is
a
commercial
entertainer
and
has
all
the
ingredients
like
love,
comedy,
romance
etc.
The
movie,
which
is
releasing
this
Friday
features
Vikram,
Anushka
Shetty,
Amala
Paul,
baby
Sara,
Santhnam,
Nasser
and
others
in
the
cast.
It
is
distributed
by
UTV
Motion
Pictures.
