Aascar approaches Chakri to direct Kamal Hassan

Aascar Ravichandran's talks with filmmaker Shankar to direct Kamal Hassan's next movie seems to have failed, as the Endhiran creator has reportedly opted out of the project. The latest buzz is that the producer has approached young director Chakri Toleti, who is directing Ajith Kumar's Billa 2, to helm Ulaga Nayagan's project.

If reports are to be believed, Aascar Ravichandran and Shankar have been taking different routes because the filmmaker wanted to have his own script for the film rather than using the story penned by Kamal Hassan himself. After holding several rounds of talks, the producer could not bring his plan to fruition. Hence, he is in discussions with Chakri Toleti.

Chakri Toleti's association with Kamal Hassan in Unnaipol Oruvan seems to have made Aascar Ravichandran to approach the Billa 2 director.
