The
rumours
of
the
sequel
to
Rajinikanth's
blockbuster
Chandramukhi
have
emerged
again.
It
was
reported
earlier
that
the
offer
to
star
in
the
second
instalment
knocked
the
door
of
Ajith
Kumar
after
Rajinikanth
turned
down
the
film
for
reasons
best
known
to
him.
The
latest
buzz
is
that
Thala
has
finally
given
his
consent
to
the
long-pending
prestigious
project
of
P
Vasu.
Chandramukhi
2
is
a
remake
of
Kannada
blockbuster
movie
Aptharakshaka,
which
starred
late
Sandalwood
matinee
idol
Dr
Vishnuvardhan
in
the
lead.
The
movie
is
reportedly
produced
by
Sivaji
Productions,
and
the
production
house
bosses
have
approached
Ajith
Kumar
again
and
convinced
him.
They
had
earlier
met
him
and
offered
the
same
but
later
the
plans
were
temporarily
shelved,
as
the
Telugu
version
titled
Nagavalli
starring
Venkatesh
got
moderate
response.
Later,
Ajith
Kumar
went
on
to
do
Mankatha
followed
by
Billa
2.
He
is
currently
busy
with
Vishnuvardhan's
directorial
untitled
movie
and
his
next
is
expected
to
be
a
commercial
movie
directed
by
T
Siva
of
Siruthai
fame.
The
project
could
only
start
after
the
completion
of
these
movies.
However,
the
first
instalment
starred
Rajinikanth,
Jyothika
and
Nayantara
in
the
leads.
