Akshay Kumar signs Rajinikanth?

By Ramchander

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar seems to be venturing into Tamil films. The actor-turned-producer is all set to remake his upcoming movie Oh My God, which will hit the screens on September 28, in Kollywood and he has reportedly approached Rajinikanth for the Tamil version.

If reports are to be believed, Rajinikanth has been roped in to play the role of Lord Krishna, which is reprised by Akshay Kumar in the original version. The superstar has reportedly given his nod to star in the movie. The rights of the Tamil version has been acquired by Krishna Prasad and it is co-produced by Akki himself.

Oh My God also stars Paresh Rawal and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead roles. It is inspired by a Gujarati stage play 'Kanji Virrudh Kanji' and it is also an official remake of Hollywood movie Bruce Almighty, which starred Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston in the lead roles.

Other details about the cast and crew are under wraps.
