Ajith Kumar starrer Billa 2 seems to be setting a benchmark for satellite rights in Tamil film industry, as it has reportedly bagged by Sun TV for a record price. The exact price, which is doing rounds in the industry, is Rs 6.25 crore.

If the figure turns true, then it is said to be the highest price paid for the satellite rights in Tamil films. Reports say that Star Vijay and Kalaignar TV were also in the race but in the end, Sun TV managed to acquire the TV rights.

Billa 2 is sequel to Vishnuvardhan's Billa. In the second instalment, Chakri Toleti has taken over the reins from Vishnu, who opted out of the film due to other commitments. It also features Mumbai-based model Parvathy Omanakuttan, Bruna Abdullah, Prabhu, Rahman, Krishnakumar and others in the cast.
