Copycat alert: We have seen Thuppakki poster before!

Lifting scenes, stories and action scenes from Hollywood or from other foreign language movies are not only new in Tamil films but also in entire Indian film industry. But now, there is a new trend - taking inspiration from photoshoots/posters of international films.

The newly released poster of Thuppakki has striking resemblances with 1982s Hollywood movie An Officer and a Gentleman directed by Taylor Hackford. The poster of Richard Gere (wearing navy outfit) lifting Debra Winger (sporting his hat) in his arms, and Kajal resting in police-uniform clad Vijay are similar.

However, in the recent times, a poster of Vijay's dropped Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru took inspiration for its first look from the French film Largo Winch. When it comes to the director AR Murugados, he has often been found taking inspiration from Hollywood movies. Be it his Ghajini or his last 7aum Arivu, looks of the actors and actions were copied from international films.

However, Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal starrer movie Thuppakki will have its audio release on October 11. The movie produced by Kalaipuli Dhanu will hit the screens for Diwali.
