Countdown begins for Vikram's Thaandavam release

The countdown for the release of Vikram's Thaandavam has just begun. With five days more for its grand release worldwide, the hype and expectations around the movie are generating like never before in Kollywood.

The movie, which has bagged clean chit from the Regional Censor Board, is coming together of successful combo - Vikram, Anushka Shetty, AL Vijay and UTV - of Deiva Thirumagal. Chiyaan's different avatars in the posters and trailers have added fuel to the growing expectations of his fans.

Thaandavam, which is simultaneously releasing in Tamil and Telugu, is reportedly hitting screens in above 1,000 screens worldwide in different versions. The movie is expected to have a great opening, as the movie does not have any competition from other big films.

Adding to that, no recent Tamil movie is doing a great business and this could benefit the movie to large extent. Meanwhile, the promotions of the movie are in full swing and the film unit is leaving no stone unturned to attract the viewers.

However, in Thaandavam, Vikram will be playing the role of a blind person who is gifted with human echolocation to detect objects in his environment. This character of the Chiyaan is inspired by Kish. The movie also features Amy Jackson and Jagapathi Babu in the key roles.
